PERFECTLY SUSPENDED

I'm standing outside my house
Kissing the sunshine aloud.
Waiting for the moment to arrive
Pick me up and take me to a dive.

Waited long
Couldn’t find a clue.
I thought- I should just move on
Too much life is due.

I got things to do
That I don’t even know.
I have smiles to give
As a part of my show.

So, with my glasses on
To see the details
With my earphones plugged in
To ignore the trails

I walk along
to places unintended
It feels great
To see everything apprehended.

I have things to do
That I don’t even know.
But, I think I am perfectly suspended
For the show.

Perfectly Suspended- Style Interpretation
The theme I took up this time defines androgyny. Suspenders were originally worn by businesspersons and bankers as they dealt with important businesses. Paired up with geeky glasses and a bow tie carry the suspension perfectly. Listening to music humming in through the earphones is an influence of the modern day tastes of interests and the work etiquette people follow.
Suspenders today are acknowledged as both casual and formal wear. Either carry them on a shirt or maybe under a jacket. Add some geeky glasses onto it and wear high-waist trousers with it. A bow tie maybe for an exaggerating geeky look might give your suspenders look a bounce.
Go for them and go all suspended.

Cheers

*Because everyone deserves to sparkle*

INSPIRATION
*Like a stained piece of glass, her radiance bloomed in the sun all day. From dawn to dusk, she had been reflecting all the madness she had. Then, the sun started to set.
She was stained and it was dark. Some fireflies flew from above. She kept brave enough to let the moment pass. A few minutes later, she illuminated from within.
The fireflies harked back! Asked her, “but...you were all stained and you are a starker”
She glowingly replied, “No matter what...everyone deserves to sparkle”*

TRENDING
Sparkle is about celebrating and expressing merriment that is made obvious by gleaming. A hint of sparkle makes everything nice. All that glitters is not only gold. You can wear silver too. Bling up your look with shiny clothes, for metallic accessories is has gone so cliché now. I teamed up a gold jacket with a hot pink skirt. And no doubts, I have two same words for it - hot hot!

Nevertheless, worn on clothes or not, each one of us have an inner sparkle. And each of us deserve to sparkle.

A MILE LONG DELAYED SMILE!

Feels like it has been long that you didn’t sit under the sky at night, counted stars and cherished some lived moments. I have just been too busy writing emails and blogging.
I deliberately took a vacation of a few days when my Mom agreed upon visiting me to Bangalore for the first time in like 5 years ALONE. And I shut my computer in the evenings. Really, I did!

Suddenly, it felt like I am living a day cherishing the small things. Couldn’t imagine how beautiful and loving moments I could spend with her. I was actually confused and tensed. But, I truly felt like writing something unfashionable. It is still tough to realise the fact that you have grown up, especially when you are spending time with mom. She is someone who will always be meticulous. She will take good care of you and treat you like a 4-year-old girl. Writing this just can’t stop my mile long delayed smile.

The best part is when you talk- talk about your neighbours from the street, talk about some distant cousin’s marriage or about YOU! Oops. So, she knows my age. She knows that I am not 17 anymore. She knows that she has to change topics of discussion smartly. That’s when it struck me. Time had changed from asking about what dress do I like to what guy do I like!

Well spent Mother's day.

TRAVELLORE

Different seasons of the year,
Thoughts come by and hitch across.
Some for as long as a line drawn on water,
While some like a scar on the skin.

As a hippie state of mind,
They wander inside out.
To diffuse smell of all the time
It feels like
Begone bitter a sweet child of mine.

Blank sometimes.
Sometimes with tears of smile.
And all the other times,
Like an urge to make it by,
To live again, either rectify.

I walk with a suitcase full of them,
And travel between a mind-full generations.
Its a long way to go,
I am here sitting on a bench,
Waiting for my next train.

After the summer sunset- "Turn 24" Rebecca

Akangsha in a floral asymmetric dress.

Aparna in a mustard jumpsuit.

Birthday girl in total casuals with Aparna and Sonakshi

A few days back, it was a Turn 24 for Rebecca and a reason for us to enjoy that moment of hers.
With a decorated FB event page, she invited everyone to her party.
And, obvious that we were to go all dressed up. So we did. Hence the pictures here. ;)

And then rest is history. the talks of the twenties, feelings of holding a Barbie, holding balloons and that big-eyed panda; wearing caps, listening her brother and friends play guitar, OMG Rebecca singing...

A trend update-
Mustards, florals, jumpsuits, asymmetric dresses- is what I want to bring your focus on!

Here we were after the sunset, at a Turn 24 phase. Light moments, dressy movements! :)

IT'S A RAMP WALK

A pointless thought struggles in your mind, looks as you just took a breathe. The sun blocks your eyesight. It were to show you some direction. On the deserted land, each time I try to grow a seed, he ploughs it out. The nails run to scratch my own skin. The door slams open at midnight. The shoes tear off while walking. I didnt even make an escape yet. Is it time?

You dressed up pink that day. The day went blue. May it be tangerine or spring outside; I just see a grayscale. Not even grays. Either white or black! While I embrace white, black scares me; while Black embraces me, I kill white. Are we done?

It always is! A monotonous melancholy. A dreamer's bad dream. If not today, it shall come tomorrow. And you figure breathing in an empty is all required. Then you forget breathing with people. Then you can't even see you in the mirror. The whiteness outshines.

But, the silence lets you hear your heart still beating. At least a drop of water makes the noise. The more you ignore, the more you attract. It will settle down. And so will thy thoughts.

It's a ramp-walk. Remember Carrie doing it for Dolce??

“When real people fall down in life, they get right back up and keep walking.”
- Carrie Bradshaw quotes.

Life settles down! It always will!

PINK été

As blows of cold winds minimize,
A midnight summer's dream comes in my eyes.
A change of the color palette
And blooms of the floral collet;
Soothing sunshine on my mind.

This is when the darks get light;
And the shades get pale.

There will be a touch of pink this summer,
and forever!

Welcome Summer!
Welcome Pink!

Two days of Sunshine!

My mind anticipated and so I followed. A break to breakaway from the monotony. And I have fallen in love. I am in love with the sunshine! Sea, sand and sunshine was I could see. And I never felt so unbound before.

It is so hard to look at you,
But your warmth gives a pleasant feeling.
A feeling of unbounding my spirit.
Close to the waves, I hear the sound;
The sound of rejuvenation.
I go in a numb state of mind;
Where I care not of what I know not!
Where I care not of what I am aware of!
I cannot stare at you,
But I loathe your brightness,
I loathe not being with you.
And I loathe darkening under you,
Still, I have loved you.
And this time,
I have happily consumed you.
For my well being,
For your love giving,
I have cherished,
“The two days of sunshine!”

CRAZY-BUSY-CRAZY!

A famine of time leaves my verbal indulgence cloaked in the conceit of exploring myself.
"Oops, I bought too many shoes to wear!"

Just as I find the streets busy with cars and buses; markets filled with colours and surprises; situations with encounters of reaching the finish line- I try having a conference with my mind and heart to buckle up and put a foot forward.

Kitting out of the house wearing the same bag and often the same green scrunchy all week (glad, it takes lesser time to change shoes ;)) got me into the thought of taking a break, sitting somewhere less obvious and enjoy the sunshine while I could scribble something to recollect my thoughts. With an ongoing list of penning down the to-do tasks- right from checking out the sales in various shops to getting material for decking up my room and even remembering to get milk every evening- I end up yawning when I open my laptop after reaching home. The weekend comes and waves off in a period lesser than seeing a shooting star.

For all I could say is I still love it, when you realise that 24 hours aren’t enough for you! The canvases are still white and the coffee still warm! :)

My idea of busyness got me into this craziness. Flaunting my new jacket which so much depicts my mood and the busyness I am sieged with, I ended up creating some CRAZY-BUSY-CRAZY and weird graphics.

Here are some pictures I didn't mess up! ;)

Be busy; be crazy!

SNOWFLAKES!

An avalanche begins with a snowflake!
by Joseph Compton

A bluffing white,
It flies as a merry kite!
The sky drizzles with them
showering translucent feelings beneath.Ho Ho Ho!
Pure amongst the cloud high!
oh god! I want to be so high!
oh god! I want to be so high!

A crystal very fragile, fancied by all the winter sheets!
This is an ode to freezing hands bare.
Ho Ho Ho!
My secret wish of despair!

IT WASN’T THAT BAD AFTER ALL!

What goes around comes around! Seconds must have extinguished but moments don’t. Seems like a chalk and cheese phenomenon to me. A thought of loving your one time hates.
There were days when I didn’t feel like talking. Then, there were days when I could just not stop talking and realise later that those long walks were so small after all...I couldn’t even conclude what I started!
Our minds are so flimsy. They just need bait in the hook to be fetched by a thought! The fact is it is an omnipresent phenomenon. What draws attention to it is the change of the thought. Some to crest, some to trough!
When it’s all said and done, you realise, It wasn’t that bad after all!

IT IS A DEAL!

A TASK ALONG WITH IT:
Smile at a stranger. See what happens.
Patti LuPone

A much-awaited Saturday it was. Neglecting the fact that the day was working, it was not as hectic as the previous Saturdays were. Those times I could hardly sit on my chair and even check my mails. Forget about leaving office on time!
And so it was this Saturday where my formality towards my paid-job was nothing more than attending the office. Still, I got engrossed into my blogging research and stayed till 6-ish there. Made lists of doing things on Sunday. Read and re-read my months-held ideas to reciprocate! Amongst them was listed a task of starting to painting again. Hence, I decided to fetch a canvas for myself.

“Crosswords at Garuda should have canvases. I can just ignore the shopping stores on way and head only to crosswords and buy a canvas and straight away come back home where my room- redecoration is partly initiated!” (I broke the rule later and shopped for a pair of shoes and bottoms!)

Before all my thoughts get collected, comes this fashion trend amongst the auto-rickshaw people!

“Auto wale bhaiya, garuda jana hai!”
“Madam, bahut traffic hai. Rs. 80 lagega!”
I just made an angry face and went to the next rickshaw guy!
“Bhaiya, garuda mall jana hai! Kitna?”
“Madam Rs. 40 hoga!”
“(At least he is better than the previous rickshaw guy), nahi!”

“Excuse me, you are going to Garuda, we can share an auto. Do you mind?”
“(Who are you? Why do you think I will share an auto-rick with you?) ok, yeah sure! Why not! Good deal- 20 -20!”

Don’t run your minds thinking who this guy could be!

Her name was Saumya, a mid 20s woman with curly hair and a sober communication skill!
We sat in. And then, began the talks. Thanks to the traffic, we almost reached to exchanging phone numbers and staying in touch like forever! :P
A keralite (mallu) who got married to a TCS guy in bengaluru lived with her in-laws and husband in the army quarters near Garuda! Did her MBA from St. Josephs and now works as an HR in some tata something company! We chatted about the pathetic traffic and uneasy office hours, talked about her in-laws and parents later lightning it up to the backwaters of Kerala and all.

Meanwhile, I felt like I just found a target to shoot myself at! I spoke about my job, my living etiquettes (not completely though!), Bangalore love/lust (yet to be distinguished), the 20 something feeling, mania for blogging and some unknown issues! Dint feel like an alien issue. I have no idea why! Sometimes, it feels good to talk to strangers. Felt like I was in a trans! Between office and home! A secret meeting with a stranger in an auto-rickshaw with no strings attached, yet relieving stress! When in doubt of shouting at someone, target a stranger next time! :P
Its like a situation when you are not exactly saying what you mean to say but saying what you mean to understand. A small bubble-up moment to get away from the daily old lexicon and activities!

Just then, her mother in law called her up to get down at the brigade signal. I thought it was ok if she didn’t pay! Rather she said, “It was a deal.”
Handed me 20 bucks and left!
It was a good deal!

For, to be a stranger is naturally a very positive relation; it is a specific form of interaction.
Georg Simmel

I've always thought my flowers had souls.

Ok. It's a saying by Myrtle Reed. Flowers are an inspiration in the most unscathed way.

To poets praising the daisies, the daffodils and the dandelions, to painters painting the lush floral lawns and the yellow sunflower fields, to birds sucking nectar from the wild ones or the temple bells and the incense sticks picturesqueness in perfection with the marigolds, to the lover with the red rose and to the petalled hair smelling of some cryptic fragrance!
*
OK. This one's original! :)*

God loved the flowers and invented soil. Man loved the flowers and invented vases. The number of smiles it brings when it blooms, the infinite crushes it has; nature has its own way of making everything beautiful! Seems like the nature's way of fashion!

I felt like I am God but lacked the power of putting soul in it!
