OH, WHAT’S THAT ON YOUR HAIR?

You keep on buying new clothes and new shoes, but the concerns of your beauty shall come through the extra effort you put in to grace your look. Those lovely hair, that shine on your nails, the fragrance you wear and the way you walk in those shoes!

Interestingly, head accessories have been driving me crazy out on the streets. So, I thought of collecting a few fancy ideas trending this winter.

The Boho head-wrap
An obvious finding- Boho inspired style on the streets. Doesn't it mean how expressive we have become to show our love for freedom and liberty? Usually in deeper colors, black being most common, it gets a high grading with studs on it. Check out this Boho chic lost in her camera.

Feathers
Another one in my lust list. Pumped with trending neon colors and that too in various creative styles- like a hair extension or a head ring, feathers make you fly between the clouds. And they look fantastic on your dark hair.

 Animals on hair
Cute animals to beautiful insects in pretty shapes and cheerful colors- butterflies, ladybugs, starfishes etc. all are supposed to look beautiful on your hair today. Personally, I would like a sparkling white dove spreading its wings clipped onto my hair.

Metallica
Ornaments have always been seen with heaps of gold, silver and copper reflecting light from them. The necklaces, earrings, bangles etc are a story of been-there-done-that. Trends suggest adding some bling onto your hair too. With the coming festive season, there are shining varieties of metallic clips and headbands to choose from.

Over-sized flowers
And the drama begins. Big blooming flowers clipped onto hair in an accent bright color. Totally lifts up your look in that subtle dress. Moreover, you can also use the over-sized floral clip as a brooch on your dress. Smart eh!

Of Bows and Hearts
Nothing may look girlie and sexy at the same time. The adorable bows!  It’s your call, wear them on clips, tic-tacs, and scrunchie or hair band.  There are no limits of colors and no limits of sizes. Have a look!

P.S.- the metallic clips and the cute bow are from Pigtails and Ponys
So, I am off to try a new look everyday! What about you?

Prints on the move.

Prints on the move (I mean) Printed pants is a trend all fabulous, colorful and playful already noticeable this season. Street smart style has always been influencing runways and all the major fashion trends. So have printed pants. Choose your style- palazzos, harems, dhoti pants or straight fitted pants.

Quickly Printed tips:
  • Mute them with solid tees and shirts to get a subtle look.
  • Pair them up with bold jackets and high heels to turn back the crowd.
  • Accessorize with metallic neck pieces and rings and cuffs or glam it up.
  • Mix prints with a printed scarf to camouflage your looks.

NEON-ised FLORALS

Summer's totally coming over now! And so are summer trends! :)
With florals considered a classic style for perfect for summers and neon making its way back in- a combination of both has caught my eye.
PS- I am posting this article on InFB remix

Quick tips:
  • Leggings in various colors and even floral prints are a must have this summer.
  • Try Neon in prints and patterns to make it look fresh and busy and eye-catching- not just flat.
  • Its the color that speaks your mood and also effects it. So, opt for lovely bright colors in florals suitable for summer which look light and bright.
  • Try dresses, skirts, leggings or scarves instead of the regular floral tops of the "Been there, done that" situation.
  • If going for floral tops, ignore the blue and black denims. Alternatively, try colored bottoms. They look awesome.:)

Go bloom! :)

I've always thought my flowers had souls.

Ok. It's a saying by Myrtle Reed. Flowers are an inspiration in the most unscathed way.

To poets praising the daisies, the daffodils and the dandelions, to painters painting the lush floral lawns and the yellow sunflower fields, to birds sucking nectar from the wild ones or the temple bells and the incense sticks picturesqueness in perfection with the marigolds, to the lover with the red rose and to the petalled hair smelling of some cryptic fragrance!
*
OK. This one's original! :)*

God loved the flowers and invented soil. Man loved the flowers and invented vases. The number of smiles it brings when it blooms, the infinite crushes it has; nature has its own way of making everything beautiful! Seems like the nature's way of fashion!

I felt like I am God but lacked the power of putting soul in it!

FACING THE SUN TODAY!

O .....I am working too much these days (you can see that my boss doesn't let me blog :s)...So, the only way I can have a cheerful day is by dressing myself up!
And ditto! My day was good--despite 12.5 hrs of work! :x

the little fun we have clicking and sipping tea on the galla outside feels enough to keep me on!
I had been seeing a lot of DIY stuff lately visiting the flea and design markets..///..if only I could not laze around and push myself to make something !...but... after too much pondering...i thought....oh..cut the crap.. I should buy the pretty crochet sunflower scrunchy...and just randomly mixed it up with some earthy color linen pants and floral shirt. The fact is, "hearing a single compliment can make your day"!

thankyou Siddhant, Aashika and Ruchika! :)

FLOWER FRIENDS

Here's another blooming post about your winter must-haves fashion looks!
Call them always in trend. Florals!
what matters is how you coordinate them up with the rest to get a not-always-floral look!

keep in mind not to pair up a floral garment with another one! I tried creating looks wherein you can pair up any one floral garment with rest of the plain coordinates! (guash, i should work on my fashion vocab!). For eg. If you have a floral tee, pair it up with plain scarf, denims and bag! The other way, if you are planning to wear everything plain and need some accent in your look, try wearing a floral scarf! And there's a beautiful floral jacket, you could team up with a plain dress.

Accessories complete your look. So, don't forget garnishing your look!

FLOWERS ON MY PANTS!

Florals have come back with a shift in the body! yes, you have been wearing them on lovely tops and scarves. Now wear them on your pants.

Here's a look of the new Autumn/Winter 2011 floral pants.
And my friend Sonakshi is nowhere behind wearing them. The pants are from Lee Cooper (try fetching from the exclusive stores or centrals).
Here's a look too, I thought could go with the pants. Go for plain color short tees. and nice striking shoes. you could try wearing flat ballerinas as well. But, make sure strike colors through your tee and shoes. Or if you are carrying a bag too!

Here's another post I did a while ago on floral pants on Deepika. Check out!

VINTAGE VOICE

Finally I get to share another design of mine I did during my Graduation! Here's a Vintage voice floral printed top. I shall not blabber about my love for Vintage and love and romance and roses and lips here! Ahh...vintage! Casual top carried with an ice washed denims and my latest love- the loafers! Mail me if you want one!

DENIM DOTS AND FLORAL SURFACES!

A lovely adorable outfit! Denim as usual is always in. Why not with a twist?. This is a Guess denim jacket with like a polka dot print! And layered over another pretty floral top! Floral fabric embellishment is so riding the streets now. I myself got an awesome gray colored shrug fully floral embellished! Both look stunning even when worn together. And then, a simple bow-ballerina would complete the look! Btw, meet Ankita, the current Jealous21 designer. Wait for the spring summer 2012 collection to come on the floor. You will defs be caught shopping!

TATTOO-FIED!

And I found a tattoo-e-d girl! Makes me feel more to get one on myself soon! well, I promise to save my money this time! (as of now). Check out where Geetanjali got it from: packo baing!

nicely and casually dressed best accessorized with the tattoo! lovely !

BLOOMING BABE ;)

And I finally caught her this time. Meet Deepika, a colleague at my workplace. Gaush, I feel so great thinking how lucky I am to work in a design studio where I can find people all dressed up. But, I tell you, its so tough to convince them. And yeah, you can never ignore the jests coming along with it. In this case, they talked about how Deepika woke up and came straight to the office in her pajamas. lol...I totally disagree.

A perfect splash of color over the top and a totally blooming bottom makes me think of a relaxed time. All fun with work at the workplace. Her shoes come along so colorful. Totally a blooming babe! mmm... Some vintage holidaying gal! or engrossed in creativity..or blooming with ideas!!

SODA UNBOTTLED

It is normal if you wonder why I named this post as ‘Soda Unbottled’. Nothing like that stands out from her outfit though! Well, her name is Sai Sangeet Paliwal and she has her own label for home furnishings named SODA UNBOTTLED!

I met her on a Sunday at one of my fav hangout places in Bangalore. Turns out she graduated from NIFT ages ago (doesn’t seem like that, does it?) and opened up her label in 2007. Check out her facebook page here.
I feel like aiming at one shot and nailing two down. Yay!!

About her style first- Electric red and blue pop out of her like the soda is unbottled. Abstract floral printed top in chiffon puts a splash of colours on her. And the blue shoes and the red bag ordinate with it.

Well, I love your style. And your label too. Checkout a few pictures I fetched from her FB page with permission. Home products like cushions, clocks, lamps etc...in the unusual SODA way:
