HIGH ON AZTEC

The more civilized the world thinks we should be, our minds keep on running into the wild, somewhere towards a sense of liberty. And that’s how we show it. Through our actions, clothes, style statements etc.

Aztec especially drives me a little high with all the color drama it showcases. Small geometric shapes in hypnotizing colors tracing back lives of the tribes in Mexico and their culture, what more free could beat that?

OH, WHAT’S THAT ON YOUR HAIR?

You keep on buying new clothes and new shoes, but the concerns of your beauty shall come through the extra effort you put in to grace your look. Those lovely hair, that shine on your nails, the fragrance you wear and the way you walk in those shoes!

Interestingly, head accessories have been driving me crazy out on the streets. So, I thought of collecting a few fancy ideas trending this winter.

The Boho head-wrap
An obvious finding- Boho inspired style on the streets. Doesn't it mean how expressive we have become to show our love for freedom and liberty? Usually in deeper colors, black being most common, it gets a high grading with studs on it. Check out this Boho chic lost in her camera.

Feathers
Another one in my lust list. Pumped with trending neon colors and that too in various creative styles- like a hair extension or a head ring, feathers make you fly between the clouds. And they look fantastic on your dark hair.

 Animals on hair
Cute animals to beautiful insects in pretty shapes and cheerful colors- butterflies, ladybugs, starfishes etc. all are supposed to look beautiful on your hair today. Personally, I would like a sparkling white dove spreading its wings clipped onto my hair.

Metallica
Ornaments have always been seen with heaps of gold, silver and copper reflecting light from them. The necklaces, earrings, bangles etc are a story of been-there-done-that. Trends suggest adding some bling onto your hair too. With the coming festive season, there are shining varieties of metallic clips and headbands to choose from.

Over-sized flowers
And the drama begins. Big blooming flowers clipped onto hair in an accent bright color. Totally lifts up your look in that subtle dress. Moreover, you can also use the over-sized floral clip as a brooch on your dress. Smart eh!

Of Bows and Hearts
Nothing may look girlie and sexy at the same time. The adorable bows!  It’s your call, wear them on clips, tic-tacs, and scrunchie or hair band.  There are no limits of colors and no limits of sizes. Have a look!

P.S.- the metallic clips and the cute bow are from Pigtails and Ponys
So, I am off to try a new look everyday! What about you?

DRESS WITH NO RULES- MEN

Clothing styles have evolved, intersected and influenced our breathe today. With a growing liberal attitude, there hardly seems to be a rule-book made which defines dress codes for us. Be it men or women, everything is loved if it looks good on you. The important thing about it is- you look good when you are comfortable in it.

Roaming around the streets of Bangalore, I could sense liberty by the way men dress today. The mantra is being confident and comfortable. I could not feel anything but happy to explore so many interesting men who gave up looking for high fashion and instead made them a brand.

Accessorizing beard with beads, tattoos on the body, men carrying raw totes with loud messages on them, wearing printed shirts, decking in leather vests and bags, printed pants nowhere close to the blue and black stripes or checks... These were the finds of liberal men.

The expression of connecting fashion with the self- not influenced by the trends or forecasts, but by the inner soul. You might love music or you might hum mantras, you might practise yoga or you  might be a lazy ass- each character shall be expressed uninfluenced.

Prints on the move.

Prints on the move (I mean) Printed pants is a trend all fabulous, colorful and playful already noticeable this season. Street smart style has always been influencing runways and all the major fashion trends. So have printed pants. Choose your style- palazzos, harems, dhoti pants or straight fitted pants.

Quickly Printed tips:
  • Mute them with solid tees and shirts to get a subtle look.
  • Pair them up with bold jackets and high heels to turn back the crowd.
  • Accessorize with metallic neck pieces and rings and cuffs or glam it up.
  • Mix prints with a printed scarf to camouflage your looks.

BOYFRIEND JEANS

A pair of boyfriend denims is one of the must-haves in all you girls’ wardrobes. Katie Holmes just felt like walking in Tom Cruise’s denims one day and she was a trendsetter. There have been many more.

Spend a day away from your skinny and feminine ideas of dressing to being a complete casual tomboy and maybe a thief (if you really steal them from his wardrobe). You will love it. Caught Nisha in those jeans the other day. Stunned by her way of carrying them in loafers and a casual tee.

Here are some more tips to carry them perfectly.
  • Wear heels or wedges with lose fitted denims to make them look casual yet sharp. Alternatively, loafers today are a rage. Why not those?
  •  A fitted shirt- half tucked in, half pulled out does the job. It just makes you look sexier. Seriously.
  • Try rolling the hem from the bottom by tightly pulling it down up till the mid-calves- makes you look sleek and tall.
  •  Hair- If long, a big bun on top makes a statement. For short hair, try being messy and casual. Remember – you have taken a day break away from the feminine and skinny ideas of dressing.
  • Focus on your accessories- the belt, bag, shades and the shoes. Let them talk for you.

HIGH ON RED

I am a firm believer of the fact that colors speak your mood. They even have the power of manipulating your mind. And before or later they give a distinction to your style.
Talking about RED, lets know some facts-
  • Its intensively attractive (you know why danger signs are painted red?)
  • A perfect date-night color to get into- (think of romance, hearts, red roses..oh love!)
  • Makes you feel good about yourself.
  • ALERT- Some say that red stimulates your diet and makes you hog on to more food than necessary. Haven't witnessed that yet? Should be careful the next time I wear red.
  • Looks super hot in ethnic dresses. Don't trust me? Have a look below.
  • Dress up as per the intensity of your mood- To be totally loud, go for a red dress or Kurti. When you want to be a little mild on people around you- try wearing accent red - your nails, shoes, bag, hair accessories etc.
THE LOUD RED LOOK. Wear Red to show your bold mood. Be high on red.
THE ACCENT RED LOOK- wear red in accessories to give a mild look.

Captured- Windsor Hat, Kurta and canvas shoes

Style today has definitely become sensitive to comfort more than the typical idea of showing off. It’s a personal choice then, to make it look stylish or funky or just giving a comfort statement.

I captured Snehashish one evening in a total fusion outfit. With a Windsor hat on his head, cotton Kurta and black canvas shoes, he spoke of comfort with an untraditional mind. A smart casual dressing for summers. Hat protects the hair, cotton Kurta keeps stay cool and canvas shoes let you walk long.

Guys- Let go you casual 'Tee and Denim' style. Think with a hat on!
Thanks Snehashish for the click. :)
